Characteristics
Thalli
dull green, consisting erect branches upto 6 cm tall and are distributed
at 2 - 11 mm interval on the horizontal stolon; the lower 1/4 to 1/3
portion of erect branches is commonly naked cylindrical becoming flattened
towards the tip; branches divides dichotomously to sub dichotomously
into strap-shaped, foliose branches of about 3 mm wide that are beset
with coarse teeth all throughout their margin; the anterior ends of
the foliose branches are generally curved or twisted or in one variety,
the entire strap-shaped blades are strongly twisted into spirals.
